recently discovered that drinking more than five glasses of chlorinated tap water per day could increase the risk of miscarriage
to women in their first trimester (according to a study by the California Dept. of Health, March 1998).
Chlorine: A Necessary Evil
The EPA states that mild exposure to chlorine is necessary to prevent serious waterborne diseases (such
as typhoid); however, chlorine can lead to the creation of trihalomethanes, which are suspected carcinogens. In addition,
cryptosporidium and giardia lamblia often survive the chlorination process. Recent outbreaks of cryptosporidium and Giardia
have caused many to become alarmed as to the quality of municipal tap water.

The Answer
To Your Water Concerns
The EnviroWize™ Water Filtration System has
emerged as the new standard to which other filters are now compared. While some filters on the market reduce chlorine and
do little or nothing to reduce other contaminants, the EnviroWize™ Filtration System uses a process known as Double
Compression Molded Block Technology™. This process is used to compress several blends of carbon with an active lead
sorbent agent. The result is a solid, immobile structure which creates a barrier that is virtually impenetrable to lead, cysts
and various other chemicals. The carbon particles are so tightly compressed that virtually every drop of water that passes
through the filter cartridge is cleaned.
Many other filters on the market use a Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)
based system. The carbon remains relatively loose in most GAC systems, regardless of how hard it is compacted. This allows
water to slip between the carbon particles, thereby avoiding filtration.
Once water enters the dense matrix of
our Filtration System, many undesirable substances become deeply trapped inside the pore structures through a process known
as Catalytic Oxidation and Absorption. This process is further accelerated in the Sub-Micron filter systems, which takes into
consideration particle size, type and purity level.
NSF
Certification
NSF International is an independent,
not for profit, third party service that tests and certifies drinking water treatment devices. While many products on the
market today are certified only for NSF Standard 42 (simply improving taste and aesthetic quality) the EnviroWize™ Countertop
Water Filtration System (with the sub-micron cartridge) has also been certified to NSF Standard 53 (as well as NSF Standard
42), to substantially reduce more than 60 common contaminants and substances found in municipal drinking water.
