The average human body is made up of approximately 50 trillion cells.The health of these cells will ultimately determine the health of your body as a whole. When we have healthy cells, we have a healthy body!
Cells need to have certain nutrients in order to correctly carry out the functions they were made to do. These are:
Carbohydrates
Fats
Proteins
Vitamins
Minerals
The key to good health is to feed your cells the nutrients they need!
You are what you eat
The basic living unit of the body is the cell. In all, your body contains about 75 trillion cells, each working independently so that as a whole you will be healthy. There are many different types of cells in the human body. In order for these cells to function properly, they require certain nutrients. As cells rely on us to provide them with their nutrition, we are responsible for their wellbeing. The food we choose to eat - our bodies take this food, digest it, break it down and assimilate its nutrients and transport these nutrients to our cells. Our cells use these nutrients to perform all their functions. What we eat becomes the cell structure of our bodies, and the cell structure determines our physical—healthy or unhealthy—nature.
This is why we should think twice about what we choose to eat. The saying is true... you are what you eat!
If we eat unhealthy foods, we generate unhealthy and toxic cells, which means that we become unhealthy and toxic. Our cells become clogged with toxins which stop the cell from being able to function correctly. This in turn impairs every system of your body to the point where it will eventually stop functioning correctly. Constipation from an impaired digestive system, cancer from a poor immune system, high blood pressure from an unhealthy circulatory system, etc. However, if we feed our cells the nutrition they were designed to take in, we have a healthy cell, which means a cell that can function correctly, which means a stronger immune system, a digestive system that is improved at assimilating the good nutrition and eliminating what is does not needed,balanced endocrine system, healthy circulatory system, etc. The sum of all parts makes the whole - a healthy you!
Nutrition for your cells
Our cells need certain nutrients, all of which are found in the foods we eat. These are proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, water, and enzymes. These nutrients in the food you eat are broken down into tiny particles, or molecules, which are the materials your body needs to perform these three important jobs.
Carbohydrates (the good sugars your body needs)
Carbohydrates give your body the main energy it needs for your muscles and nerves to work, and to build and repair your body tissues. The sugars and starches in potatoes, fruits, honey, cereal, corn, peas, and beans provide those needed carbohydrates. There are two types of carbohydrates, simple and complex. Simple carbohydrates are sugars and are found in foods such as carbonated soft drinks, most desserts, candy, jelly and jam, and similar foods. Simple carbohydrates are also a big part of many of the processed foods we eat. Complex carbohydrates (starch and fiber) are found in whole grain breads, spaghetti, noodles, barley, potatoes, and other such foods.
Fats
Fats (lipids) give you energy too, in fact, more than twice as much energy as carbohydrates. Your body uses fats for energy and growth. But some people do not use, or burn up, all the fats they eat. This extra fat is then stored in the body and the person becomes overweight. Milk, butter, meat, and ice cream are some foods which provide the fats your body needs.
Protein
The job of proteins in your diet includes repairing damaged body cells, building new tissues, and helping your immune system to fight disease. Milk, eggs, cheese, beans, chicken, fish, meats, vegetables, and nuts are a source of protein for you.
Every function in the living cell depends on proteins.
Minerals
minerals also help your body grow. Your teeth and bones depend on them; your blood needs them to clot; and your digestive juices use them in their work. They should be included in a daily dietary regimin aswell.
